Job Description Job Summary The Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing all inventory-related activities to ensure accurate tracking, efficient storage, and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste, and supporting production and shipping schedules. Inventory Lead works closely with warehouse, production, and quality teams to ensure inventory integrity and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure data accuracy. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with relevant departments. Oversee receiving, storage, and distribution processes to ensure efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with production and shipping teams to ensure timely availability of materials. Maintain inventory management systems and generate reports for leadership. Train warehouse staff on inventory procedures and best practices. Ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness standards in storage areas. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and logistics. Qualifications & Skills: Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum 2+ years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations. Familiarity with inventory control systems and procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). Effective communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in PC computer use: Word, Excel, email, etc. Preferred: Experience in the textile, bedding, or foam production industry. Knowledge of ERP systems and barcode scanning technology. Understanding of Lean principles and manufacturing optimization strategies. Competencies: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to lead and motivate a team. Time management and multitasking skills. Adaptability to changing priorities and production demands. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and raw materials. Standing for long periods and performing repetitive inspections. Ability to lift and move products up to 30 lbs. as needed. Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime as required.
