ESSENTIAL DUTIES IN RECEIVING DEPARTMENT (WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATES) (RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) Collaborate with Department Manager for list of expected deliveries Receives shipments and signs paperwork upon receipt Unloads packages from incoming trucks Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged Open and verify packages according to order invoices (quality, quantity, price, etc.) Communicates any discrepancies or any mistakes identified to Department Manager so that they can contact the vendor Prepares shipment that will be returned to vendors due to unsatisfactory quality, or replacements Labels deliveries and allocates them to their designated place Ensures that all invoices are signed Performs and executes functions relating to merchandise preparation, staging and outbound shipments. Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control Must clean and sanitize work areas Collaborate with Department Manager for list of expected deliveries Safely operate all company equipment Complete Forklift Training certification CUSTOMER SERVICE: Providing premier customer service, including greeting them and responding to questions Engaging in suggestive selling and other sales techniques Meets or exceeds Department's sales goals assigned through the efficient execution of Company policies and procedures Maintains cleanliness of work area, storage area, and selling floor Ensures a safe and clean work environment Cross Training: Store Support Associates exemplify teamwork and are open to and willing to be trained and step in when needed in all departments and willing to complete necessary documentation, training, etc. in similar skilled areas for filling and development opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds or their substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment. Must be able to use job related equipment such as a stepping ladder, mop, and push carts No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred Previous experience as a Warehouse Associate, General Laborer, or Forklift Operator is preferred Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid REQUIREMENTS: Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service Able to read, write, and do simple math problems Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from the general public and management Ability to interact with all levels of management Must be able to operate pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor and scrub machine Possess a food handling license or the ability to acquire one Ability to frequently reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 100 lbs. with a lifting aid. And up to 20 lbs. without aid. Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk and move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary Must be able to operate related equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, hand trucks etc. Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities Requires knowledge of basic math, weights and measures Ability to learn section policies and procedures Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties Hands are in frequent contact with water and various fruits and vegetables while performing job duties Marukai Tokyo Central is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E Verify.
