Material Handler/Backup Yard Jockey

Under appropriate supervision, the Material Handler/Backup Yard Jockey position will perform trailer movements and material handler functions critical to the operation. Duties include manual, clerical and data entry skills. Operate and maintain spotter and material handling equipment as required to transfer material to destination. Interface with Site Manager/Operations Manager and personnel in a professional manner. Prepare and maintain all related information including the movement of trailer and trailer inventory on yard. Move trailers in and out of docks to ensure reasonable care of customer’s product. Responsible for adhering to all company Policy and Procedures in addition to State and Federal regulations. REQUIREMENTS:Possess a valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a DOT physical. Must be able to lift 75 pounds on a continual basis. Ability to safety get in and out of spotter unit. Ability to crank trailer dollies for each spotter movement.
