The Opportunity CCWD is seeking an Account Clerk II that will primarily support the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role also serves as part of a coverage pool for the cashier function, assisting customers with water payments. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Key Responsibilities Prepare incoming invoices for approval by verifying accuracy, coding, and supporting documentation. Enter invoices into batches for payment processing. Review batches for accuracy and completeness. Process payments, including check preparation and distribution. Review vendor statements and reconcile discrepancies. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status. Keep accurate and organized records. Serve as back-up for the Cashier and additional support to the accounting team as needed. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas are required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 25 pounds with the use of proper equipment. ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The CCWD contracts with CalPERS for medical benefits. A defined benefit retirement plan; reciprocity with CalPERS and CalPERS reciprocal agencies. (Reciprocal agency service does not count toward the 5-year or 10-year vesting requirement for fully paid retiree medical.) The defined benefit is 2.35% at 55 for those with classic reciprocity. New hires who are not eligible for classic reciprocity are eligible for the 2% at 62 PEPRA defined benefit.
