Electrophysiology Cardiologist Department of Internal MedicineJob Summary:The Electrophysiology Cardiologist provides high-quality specialty care for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders in a community-based hospital setting. This role involves evaluating and managing complex arrhythmias, performing electrophysiology studies and catheter-based ablation procedures, and implanting and managing cardiac rhythm devices. The electrophysiologist collaborates with cardiology and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care while supporting comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.2 procedural EP days per week2 days of outpatient clinic per weekInpatient general cardiology coverage (rotating call schedule)EPIC EMR systemMmodal dictation with possible AI enabled scribe in near futureDuties and Essential Job Functions:Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and conduction disorders in inpatient and outpatient community-based settingsPerform electrophysiology studies and catheter-based ablation procedures appropriate to a community hospital programImplant, program, and manage cardiac rhythm devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devicesInterpret ECGs, ambulatory and implantable cardiac monitoring data, and intracardiac recordingsProvide longitudinal outpatient follow-up and continuity of care for electrophysiology patientsCollaborate closely with general cardiologists, hospitalists, emergency department providers, anesthesia, nursing, and procedural teamsParticipate in shared call coverage and support hospital-based electrophysiology servicesMaintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements Benefits:Competitive salaryPaid Time Off (ATO)CME/Professional Expense AllowanceRelocation assistance Malpractice insurance providedHealth, vision, and dental insurance optionsRetirement optionsQualifications:Required Education and Experience:Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty.Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.Board Certification or Board Eligible.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Preferable experience in performing Watchmans (LAAO) and Pulsed Field AblationsPreferable experience and willingness to perform atrial fibrillation ablations.Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facilityMust be able to demonstrate working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty areaMust have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skillsMust be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreachMust be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
