EMORYTRANSPLANT CENTEREmory Transplant CenterAdministration1365 Clifton Road, NE Building B, Suite 6100 Atlanta, Georgia 30322Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology - Department of MedicineEmory University School of Medicine Emory Transplant CenterThe Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, in partnership with the Emory Transplant Center, is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained Transplant Hepatologist to join a nationally recognized and growing multidisciplinary liver transplant program. Academic rank at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor will be commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.Emory Transplant Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive transplant programs in the United States, offering a collaborative environment with outstanding clinical volume, innovative research programs, and strong educational missions. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of transplant hepatologists, transplant surgeons, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary specialists committed to advancing the care of patients with advanced liver disease.Position OverviewThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical care for patients with advanced liver disease and those undergoing liver transplantation, including both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities across Emory Healthcare hospitals and affiliated sites.The physician will play an integral role in patient care, clinical innovation, and academic development within the Emory Transplant Center while contributing to the missions of clinical excellence, education, research, and quality improvement.Key Responsibilities1. Clinical CareProvide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with general hepatic conditions, advanced liver disease and those undergoing liver transplantation.Participate in transplant hepatology clinical services across Emory Healthcare facilities.Participate in shared call coverage for transplant hepatology and attend on inpatient liver transplant service and general hepatology consultation service.Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and management of liver transplant candidates and recipients.2. Academic and Program DevelopmentMaintain an academic appointment in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Emory University Department of Medicine.Participate in initiatives to advance clinical quality, patient safety, and program growth within the Emory Transplant Center.Engage in clinical research, translational research, quality improvement initiatives, and/or educational scholarship, aligned with the candidate's interests.3. Education and MentorshipParticipate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.Contribute to the academic mission through lectures, conferences, and clinical teaching.4. Program and Institutional EngagementParticipate in multidisciplinary transplant selection conferences, morbidity and mortality conferences, peer review activities, and program committees.Contribute to the development and adoption of innovative clinical tools, technologies, and care pathways in transplant hepatology.Minimum QualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and Transplant HepatologyCompletion of an ACGME-accredited Transplant Hepatology FellowshipEligible for or able to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the State of GeorgiaEligible for a DEA controlled substance registrationPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated interest in clinical research including clinical trials, quality improvement, education, or program developmentExperience in multidisciplinary transplant programs and live donor selection.
