Heliae Agriculture is on the path of understanding how a balanced soil microbiome improves overall soil health, structure, water and nutrient efficiency, and plant vigor and marketable yields, even under stressed conditions, thus helping growers transition to more regenerative agriculture practices and increase Return on Investment.  Website: Function: Bioprocess Manufacturing Batch Technician will work with the production team to understand batch plans and operations while complying with all Heliaes policy and safety standards. Candidate will immediately assist and participate in all plant processes for operations, maintenance, quality sampling and testing. Incumbents will work closely with production lead as skill level increases; the intensity of supervision will gradually decrease as experience and trust are gained. Reports to: Senior Manager of Production  Primary Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:  Working outside, year-round, for the duration of shift in possible inclement or undesirable weather conditions.  Monitor and adjust plant control systems and bioreactors for optimal conditions. Maintain and operate plant equipment related to moving water or algae culture with the use of plant controls systems, hoses, pumps, valves, process gauges, and flow meters.Operate plant dewatering equipment and adjust downstream equipment parameters to optimize biomass recovery and product quality.Take samples from batch reactors and utilize laboratory equipment for required tests.Eeigh chemicals and transfer process fluids or slurries. Always utilize proper chemical hygiene practices and PPE which may include the use of half face respirator. Follow concise and technical procedures listed in master batch records to produce quality Ag products, including temperature monitoring, testing, and addition of required chemicals.Utilize bottle filling and box packaging equipment to prepare pallets and totes of product for shipment.Operate electric 1500psi oil burner or cold water pressure washers and handheld cleaning tools to clean bioreactors, tanks, and equipment for pre and post batch sanitation.  Fulfill sales orders by reworking, preparing, and staging finished products for shipment to customers.Utilize a forklift and pallet jack to load outgoing product shipments and unload raw materials.Assist in maintaining site inventory of chemical, raw materials, and packaging supplies.Follow SOP for wastewater monitoring, testing and discharge.Troubleshoot equipment problems and assist with needed repairs.Maintain a written training notebook.Maintain data with written and electronic logbooks.Effectively and clearly communicate operational information to production team and managers. Maintain, promote, and achieve a safe work environment and culture.Ensure the worksite is 24-hour Tour Ready by maintaining site organization, cleared trash bins and campus grounds. Performing other duties as needed or directed by supervisor. Qualifications:Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesBasic understanding of mechanical equipment, SCADA software, biology and workplace safety.Ability to follow verbal and written instruction or procedural documents.Intermediate math skills Willingness to work weekends, early mornings, late evenings and overtime. o  Flexibility is required as business needs may varyAbility to problem solve and navigate changes in a challenging environmentEnsure site safety and security as key card holder.The ability to operate: o  Computer o  Calculator o  Forklift o  Pallet JackThe ability to: o  Walk a construction site with varying or uneven terrain. o  Stand for extended periods of time. o  Occasionally (0-33%) lift, pull, or carry up to 60 pounds short distances. o  Frequently (34%-66%) perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers. o  Often (67% -100%) Work outside in adverse weather conditions. o  Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods  Hard Hat 100%  Safety Glasses 100%Safety Toe Boots 100% Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.Self-motivated, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently.Excellent communication (written and oral) skills.Teamwork orientated.Adaptable and flexible.Punctual, efficient and effective. Preferred Background Experience:Wastewater treatment plant highly preferred.Food or Agricultural manufacturing and processing.Construction or Construction Materials Testing.Chemistry/Biology.  Heliae is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
