Packaging Technician

Role: Packaging Operator Location: Lincoln, NE 68462 Duration: 06 months Job Description: The Laboratory Technician will conduct day to day tasks supporting a molecular biology and fermentations R&D teams. Once trained, the technician will be expected to keep up with daily activities which will include, along with other general support duties, media and plate preparation, restocking of lab supplies, cleaning and sterilization of glassware, collecting and autoclaving waste, and maintaining the lab support areas of the lab. The preferred candidate will have some lab experience and a good understanding of sterile techniques and excellent biosafety behaviors. It will also be important to have good basic math skills and an ability to operate day to day under minimal direct supervision. Technicians will also perform standard upkeep and cleaning protocols on multiple pieces of scientific equipment and become familiar with their general function. This position will include some rotational weekend work, typically collecting samples for other scientists. Key Responsibilities Describe the key deliverables to be achieved by the post holder and the ongoing responsibilities of the role Comply with and support the Clients Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Achieve Performance target for Packaging Lines. Perform specific task assigned by Packaging Leadership or designee. Participate in RCA for deviations. Participate in RCA for problems/breakdowns that occur on equipment. Perform and assist with preventative maintenance and autonomous maintenance on packaging production lines. Perform and assist with packaging production lines change overs to meet department needs. Perform and assist with 5S and cleaning activities to always meet good manufacturing practices.
