Nurse Practitioner | Administration Location: North Carolina, NC Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine NC Overview: Join our team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine, providing vital services to our nation's Veterans. In this key role, you will perform compensation and pension exams along with health assessments across multiple locations in North Carolina. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans—all while working within your own established office practice. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery Ability to perform interview-based exams with some physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working independently within your own office setting Ability to complete exams efficiently and accurately Familiarity with documentation and report submission processes Nice to Have Skills: Previous experience with Veterans' health assessments or compensation & pension exams Certification in medical evaluation or related credentials Ability to perform assessments in a timely manner within tight schedules Experience working remotely or independently in a healthcare setting Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (NP certification) Prior experience conducting compensation and pension examinations or health assessments for veterans or similar populations At least 1-2 years of clinical practice in general medicine or internal medicine Other Requirements: Own and operate a private office location within the specified radius of each site Willingness to work on a per diem, PRN basis with flexible scheduling (half-day or full-day shifts) Reliable internet and telecommunications setup for report submission and communication Ability to complete required training and onboarding promptly Local candidates only, travel included in the pay structure; no additional reimbursements for certifications or portal training This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills in a meaningful way while enjoying flexible hours, competitive compensation, and ongoing support from a dedicated team.
