Officially opened in September 2015 as a 232,500 square foot facility, this cutting-edge operation is a powerhouse of innovation and quality. With approximately 400 dedicated Team Members, the Monroe plant specializes in delivering top-tier acoustic insulation, carpet, and underfloor technologies to companies such as Honda, Toyota, and Subaru. In 2018, UGN invested $50 million in the facility's growth, adding 150,000 square feet (65%) to plant capacity. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment such as electrical controls, 3rd shift from 10:30pm - 7am.Pay Range: $23-$34/hourly DOE What you will do for UGN: Utilize Proteus computerized maintenance management system for work scheduling, obtaining location and reordering of replacement spare parts, and recording work performed for equipment history. Observe mechanical devices in operation and use your senses and devices to identify the need for repair maintenance. Collaborate with maintenance staff as needed for the correct diagnosis and repair of machines. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose the problem or repair. Dismantle equipment to gain access to remove, adjust or replace consumable components, or install new or repaired parts in defective machines and/or equipment. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Operate testing devices, welders, drill press, grinders, oxy fuel and propane torches, and saws to maintain machines and equipment. Clean and maintain HVAC and air compressor coils. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Upon discovery of damaged components, replacement may be necessary. Clean, lubricate & adjust equipment per schedule. Start devices after repair to test performance. Provide maintenance for Preventive, Predictive, Project & Reactive issues. Communicate the required supply of essential spare parts. Maintain production and facilities equipment manuals library relating to the facility. Maintain up-to-date equipment history. Maintain training level to perform adequate maintenance performance. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and repair truck loading dock plates to maintain in operational order. Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors. Test automated machinery and verify repairs. Test and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Repair and maintain the production facility. Inspect and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of facility equipment, including re-securing contact terminations. Inspect and test equipment such as transformers, motors, controls, lighting fixtures, wiring, and component parts. Inspect and repair or replace faulty electrical components such as printed circuit boards. Other duties may be assigned. What you will bring to UGN: Associate degree from a college or technical school preferred. 3+ years of related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedures and equipment manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the plant. Knowledge of Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Internet software. May be required to have/obtain licenses to operate powered industrial trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other types of equipment used to facilitate equipment repairs and accessibility.
