About the Position The Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of Evergreen Goodwill facilities. This position works with a variety of electrical devices and systems, diagnoses problems, and ensures compliance with technical specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical system or equipment malfunctions. Perform calculations for load requirements and ensure proper operation of electrical systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments. Follow all safety procedures, electrical codes, and company policies. Maintain records of work performed and assist with preventive maintenance schedules. Position Requirements (Qualifications for the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in electrical work. Knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and code requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations Washington State Electrician License preferred. Valid Washington State driver's license with a clean record. Computer/Technology Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) preferred. Ability to use maintenance management or work order software. Mental/Sensory Requirements Analytical thinking and problem-solving. Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics. Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working on ladders or lifts. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and electrical hazards. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when necessary.
