For more information visit About the Role Reporting to the Global Technical Director, as Quality Engineer you will lead the delivery of quality across the Durham facility. Sustaining the quality strategy and fostering a robust quality culture. Reporting metrics and improvements to all levels of the organization. Leading quality issue resolution through hands-on problem solving and expertise with cross functional team collaboration. Role Accountabilities, Expectations and Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. Ensures the Quality Management System is in compliance with ISO 9001. Writes quality assurance policies and procedures for approval Plans, conducts, and monitors testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality. Devises sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data. Collects and compiles statistical quality data for use in continuous improvement through analysis. Reviews the efficiency and effectivity of quality testing and inspection systems, documents internal audits and other quality assurance activities, Investigates internal and customer complaints and non-conformance issues, and develops, recommends and corrective and preventive actions. Aid owners in implementation and audits of sustained corrective actions. Use of business system tools to drive continuous improvement in manufacture and production processes. Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions Monitor risk management activities Coordinate activities to assure ongoing compliance with quality (ISO9001:2015) and industry regulatory requirements The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this Job Description are indicative and may vary over time. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Education to degree level within chemistry, chemical engineering or other relevant scientific discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred Minimum 5yrs experience of driving continuous improvement programs Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and/or TS 16949 Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements Key Competencies: Attention to detail Communication skills - verbal and written Data collection, management and analysis Problem analysis and problem solving Planning and organizing Judgment Decision-making Customer service orientation Teamwork
