Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Location: El Cajon, California Start Date: June 2026 Schedule: Onsite Monday Thursday 10-hour shifts Position Overview We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide adult outpatient behavioral health services in a collaborative clinical setting. The provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for adult patients. Opportunity Highlights Adult outpatient psychiatry practice Consistent 4-day work week schedule Collaborative behavioral health care team Physician supervision available High-priority coverage need Job Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult patients Diagnose and treat mental health and behavioral health conditions Provide medication management and adjust treatment plans as needed Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Perform follow-up visits and ongoing patient monitoring Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EMR Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary behavioral health team members Participate in care coordination and treatment planning discussions Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications Qualifications Active Nurse Practitioner license Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred DEA license or eligibility Experience in adult outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health preferred Skills Strong knowledge of adult psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities Expertise in psychopharmacology and medication management Ability to perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills Excellent patient communication and counseling abilities Proficiency with EMR documentation Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team Strong organizational and time-management skills in an outpatient setting Practice Setting Adult outpatient behavioral health clinic Collaborative clinical environment Immediate coverage need for high-priority role
