Job Posting: Oncology Infusion RN Location: 18707 Hardy Oak Blvd Suite 320 San Antonio TX 78258 United States Job Type: Full-Time About Us: We are dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care to our patients. We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering life-saving treatments to cancer patients, offering support to families, and coordinating care alongside our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Position Overview: As an Oncology Infusion RN, youll be responsible for administering chemotherapy, blood components, and other cancer treatments, performing nursing assessments, educating patients and their families, and ensuring effective coordination of care within an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for cancer patients. Administer chemotherapy, blood products, fluids, and electrolytes as prescribed by the physician. Monitor patients for infusion complications and address any issues or concerns promptly. Provide education and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, side effects, and the healing process. Review laboratory results, report abnormalities to the physician, and follow facility policy. Coordination and Communication: Facilitate consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and scheduling of future appointments. Triage patient phone calls, documenting relevant information and ensuring timely responses. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care. Assist in coordinating additional services related to patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for patients. Other Duties: Assist patients in locating community resources and support services. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants, offering guidance and support when necessary. Skills and Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred. Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, safety protocols, and infusion nursing procedures. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Medical Specialty: Oncology Physical Setting: Outpatient Ability to Commute: San Antonio, TX 78258 (Required) Ability to Relocate: San Antonio, TX 78258: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person Obtained prior to patient infusion Educate patient/family regarding infusion therapy Maintain infusion sites and systems Identify potential patients for home infusion therapy Administer infusion nursing care to patients in an office setting Administer infusion nursing care to patients in an officesetting Assist the infusion manager in duties Using established guidelines associated with length of infusion and availability of infusion chair Prepare infusion setups and administration processes Meet home infusion and other patient care needs Obtain correct, appropriate and timely prescriptions and specific care instructions from referring physician, including prescriptions for all nursing orders Submit all required patient care documentation and reports in a timely manner Perform all aspects of skilled infusion nursing care for patients in the home setting or ambulatory infusion suite Perform all aspects of skilled infusion nursing care for patients in the home setting or ambulatory infusion suite Perform pharmaceutical infusion compounding activities Provide infusion nursing clinical services Supervise sanitation and maintenance of the clean room area Provide direct patient care to Rheumatology infusion patients in a clinic setting Vary according to client need for infusion Attend national infusion nurses monthly conference calls
