We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering life-saving treatments to cancer patients, offering support to families, and coordinating care alongside our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Position Overview: As an Oncology Infusion RN, youll be responsible for administering chemotherapy, blood components, and other cancer treatments, performing nursing assessments, educating patients and their families, and ensuring effective coordination of care within an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for cancer patients. Administer chemotherapy, blood products, fluids, and electrolytes as prescribed by the physician. Monitor patients for infusion complications and address any issues or concerns promptly. Provide education and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, side effects, and the healing process. Review laboratory results, report abnormalities to the physician, and follow facility policy. Coordination and Communication: Facilitate consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and scheduling of future appointments. Triage patient phone calls, documenting relevant information and ensuring timely responses. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care. Assist in coordinating additional services related to patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for patients. Other Duties: Assist patients in locating community resources and support services. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants, offering guidance and support when necessary. Skills and Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred. Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, safety protocols, and infusion nursing procedures. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
