Job Title 2nd Shift - Maintenance Operations Supervisor Primary Location County Waste Clifton Park, NY Salary: $95K - $100K and eligible to earn an annual bonus 2nd shift - 2pm to midnight Are you passionate about maintenance and ready to take the next step in your career? This role allows you to explore maintenance management while engaging in essential office responsibilities. You will gain valuable experience in budget management and P&L aspects of our business. Along with working closely with our dedicated team, you will spend approximately 75% of your time on administrative tasks, ensuring our operations run smoothly. Position Responsibilities: Foster a safe work environment aligning with our Corporate Core value of safety first. Develop a strong collaborative spirit between maintenance personnel and the operations team. Lead, train, and mentor Preventative Maintenance Technicians to advance their skills. Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal regulations at the location. Oversee the accurate completion of repair orders by all technicians. Manage inventory and maintain equipment effectively. Provide training and assistance to Technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment. Prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs and technician capabilities. Test vehicles to troubleshoot issues and verify successful repairs. Maintain regular communication with fellow supervisors and the District Maintenance Manager. Assist the Maintenance Manager with monthly financial projections and budgeting tasks. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to plan, budget, schedule, and supervise multiple projects from inception to completion. Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT compliance requirements is essential. Motivating staff and fostering a friendly team environment is crucial. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on cost-effective solutions. Requirements: 5+ years of mechanic experience in truck and heavy equipment maintenance and repair (experience in the waste industry preferred). Proven ability to train and inspire staff is a must. Strong knowledge of air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Trade or Technical School Certificate preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required. Proficient in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
