Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner - NocturnistMethodist Medical Group (MMG) a premier physician-led organization affiliated with Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas, is actively seeking a dedicated, full-time nocturnist Nurse Practitioner to join the trauma surgery team at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas. Responsibilities Triage and run Level 2 trauma activations, manage acute resuscitationAssist with Level I trauma activationsPerform procedures such as EFAST exams, central and arterial line insertion, intubation and bronchoscopic proceduresAssist in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery operative proceduresRound on a diverse patient population in the ICU, critical care, and trauma floorsCollaborate closely with the Trauma Medical Director and the trauma teamContribute to the delivery of high-quality trauma care overnightManage patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, intermediate care, and on the floorPerform comprehensive and interval history and physical examsOrder, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic studiesDocument findings and treatment plans in the EMREducate patients regarding diagnoses and treatment plansPrescribe or recommend therapeutic procedures and medicationsRefer patients to physicians or specialized health resources as neededAssume additional duties as needed within scope of licensure QualificationsSuccessful completion of a Nurse Practitioner and board certified as an NPActive license or eligibility to practice in the State of TexasCertifications (Preferred):ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) familiarity or certification preferredBLS (Basic Life Support)FCCS (Fundamental Critical Care Support) optional but beneficialMinimum of 2 5 years of clinical experience in trauma, critical care, or ICU settings preferredStrong surgical and critical care knowledge baseExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and communicate effectively in high-pressure situationsProficiency in EMR documentation and clinical decision-making Work EnvironmentFull-time nocturnist positionAtmospherics include the rewarding nature of trauma, quickly evolving critical care, collaboration, communication, and management overnight with the Attending surgeon Company Mission and CultureMethodist Mansfield Medical Center is committed to delivering exceptional trauma care through a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
