Roles & Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers throughout the continuum of care Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias while responding to cardiac events Administer and manage IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs and central line blood draws Access and manage ports and administer blood products safely and accurately Support infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to keep patients safe Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services) to coordinate patient-centered care Document thoroughly and timely in EPIC to ensure continuity and quality of care Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed and adapt to unit-specific workflows Qualifications BLS certification (required) Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet within the 3 most recent years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for a clinical pass) Oncology experience preferred but not required ONS Chemo certification preferred Comfort and/or experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line management, and blood product administration preferred Experience with EPIC or computerized charting systems required Willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units and a growth mindset Knowledge & Skills Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring expertise Dysrhythmia interpretation and management Oncology nursing fundamentals and familiarity with solid tumor diagnoses Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE best practices Tracheostomy care and management IV therapy, port access, and central line blood draw skills Blood product administration and safe medication practices Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting Benefits A supportive team that values YOU and your growth - mentorship during orientation and on-unit preceptorship Paid orientation (first week dayshift, second week on-unit preceptor time) to set you up for success Time off and flexible self-scheduling so you can plan life outside work Access to a collaborative interdisciplinary care team (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Work) to deliver great patient outcomes Licensure assistance and training on EPIC charting to keep your skills sharp Opportunities to expand oncology skills including chemotherapy administration and port management Paid time to recharge - pre-approved time off built into the schedule A culture focused on safety and infection prevention with hands-on learning Travel Perks: Explore Columbus, OH Explore Columbus on your days off: stroll the Short North Arts District for galleries and dining, visit the Columbus Museum of Art, relax at the Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, catch a Buckeyes game or campus energy at The Ohio State University, wander historic German Village, enjoy the Scioto Mile riverfront park, and check out the renowned Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for a weekend adventure.
