Role Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment plans that align with both immediate and long-term objectives for communication, cognitive, and swallowing interventions. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language capabilities, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team-including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and caregivers-to formulate cohesive treatment strategies. Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress made during therapy and encourage continuity of care. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy sessions to ensure comprehensive management across the care continuum. Maintain precise and timely documentation adhering to state regulations and organizational policies. Stay informed on industry advances through ongoing education and professional collaboration. Education and Credentials Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Required Certifications State licensure for Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment. Desired Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methodologies spanning all ages, with an in-depth understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adept at tailoring therapy strategies to honor diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving acumen.
