Your work environment may vary, including single or multi-family homes, assisted living facilities, independent living spaces, or memory care units. You will have the opportunity to assess and treat individuals facing challenges such as language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication issues, voice disorders, and those in need of alternative or augmentative communication methods. Your patients may include individuals recovering from strokes or living with progressive conditions like Parkinson's disease and dementia. Qualifications Must have a valid state driver's license. Must possess automobile liability insurance. Must use seat belts while driving. Dependable transportation in good working condition. Ability to drive in various weather conditions. State licensure as an SLP in the place of employment.
