Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU / Progressive Care Unit - Oncology - Columbus, OH (43210) 16-week travel nursing contract - PCU Registered Nurse (RN) in Columbus, OH (43210) providing high-acuity care for oncology and step-down adult patients. Great opportunity for experienced PCU/oncology travel nurses seeking Columbus nursing jobs and Ohio travel nurse positions. Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) - travel nurse position, local candidates and compact license holders encouraged to apply Contract Duration: 16 weeks (May 4, 2026 - August 24, 2026) Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30), 3 shifts per week Hours per Week: 36 Employment Type: Travel (Travel Registered Nurse / Travel RN) Unit: Inpatient Nursing Float Pool - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a 318-bed comprehensive cancer center Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU, step-down, MedSurg, or ICU-level experience within the last 3 years At least 1 year of current specialty experience required; oncology nursing experience preferred Travel nursing experience required (previous Travel RN assignments preferred) Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at submission) Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; OCN and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate preferred Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system Demonstrated competency with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, and dysrhythmia interpretation 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Key Responsibilities Float across MedSurg and PCU oncology units including BMT (bone marrow transplant), Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, and Corrections Healthcare Provide safe, high-quality adult and geriatric patient care in a comprehensive cancer center setting Administer and monitor chemotherapy, manage central lines/ports, arterial lines, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care, NG tubes, and Foley catheters Interpret cardiac rhythms, initiate appropriate interventions, and manage telemetry and cardiac drip therapies Use clinical equipment including GE telemetry monitor system, Alaris infusion pumps, PCA pumps, and Stryker beds Implement infection prevention protocols and patient fall-prevention strategies Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV Team, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, and more Participate in self-scheduling and provide variable weekend coverage based on unit needs Why Join This Team Work in a nationally recognized comprehensive cancer center with advanced oncology resources Opportunity to expand oncology and PCU clinical expertise (chemotherapy administration, BMT, hematology) Supportive interdisciplinary team and access to continuing education and professional growth Competitive weekly pay for travel nursing jobs in Columbus, Ohio Take your nursing career to the next level in Columbus, Ohio - a vibrant city with diverse culture, a thriving arts scene, and great outdoor recreation.
