Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plasma machines, Bystronic laser automation system, Powdercoat systems, Robotic welding systems, IR compressor systems, press brakes, 2-Axis CNC Lathes, 5-Axis CNC Mills, and other manufacturing machinery. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, applying Lean and 5S methodologies, and tracking key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to improve reliability and efficiency.What You Will Do:ResponsibilitiesPerform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on plasma machines, lasers, press brakes, CNC equipment, and other machineryDiagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective solutionsConduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficientlyApply Lean and 5S principles to optimize workspaces and maintenance processesWork closely with production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performanceTrack and analyze MTBF and MTTR metrics to improve machine reliability and reduce downtimeMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, part inventories, and performance metricsMaintain records within Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS) - MaintainXEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policiesQualificationsHigh School/GED requiredStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components requiredExperience troubleshooting 2-Axis CNC Lathes, 5-Axis CNC Mills, Bystronic Laser Automation Systems, Powdercoat Systems, Robotic Welding Systems, IR Compressor Systems requiredUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing, 5S methodology, and maintenance KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR requiredKnowledge of preventive maintenance programs, reliability best practices, and maintenance metric tracking required5+ Years Years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment requiredAble to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometryAbility to read and understand prints and schematicsAbility to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch incrementsAble to use Microsoft Office ApplicationsSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical DemandsThis is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch.
