Laser Systems Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Test and characterization of laser devices, materials and systems * Develop and set up test rigs and test methodology * Test automation and automated data processing and analysis * Design, simulation and evaluation of laser devices and silicon photonic integrated optical components * Preparation of documentation for component specifications, design libraries and design reviews * Production of test plans for manufactured devices * Analysis and presentation of test data MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Master's in SC lasers/integrated optics/silicon photonics * Hands-on experience of testing optical devices * Proficiency in test setup and automation and Python/MATLAB/C++ coding * Basic knowledge in standard integrated optical simulation and design tools * Ability to adapt and operate under tight deadlines * Strong verbal and written communication skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATION * Knowledge of silicon photonic circuits * Basic understanding of coherent optical communications/systems is a plus
