Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Head of School and the daily supervision of the Principal, the Language Arts Teacher will oversee the day-to-day Biblically-grounded academic instruction and discipleship of his/her students. This individual will serve as a minister of Christ in all activities performed as an employee of Cornerstone Christian Academy/Cornerstone Chapel. The Language Arts Teacher will influence positive, God-honoring student behavior, and plan, organize, and implement effective instructional programs based on curriculum guidelines while accurately assessing student performance. The Language Arts Teacher will ensure that all students are instilled with a Biblical worldview and supervised in a safe and loving learning environment that fosters spiritual, social and intellectual development. As a Christian role model for his/her students, the Language Arts Teacher must exhibit patience, grace, humility and integrity when working with administration, faculty, students and parents. The Language Arts Teacher must have a strong, active and committed relationship with Jesus Christ, a willingness to lead with a humble heart, a passion for Christian education, and a calling to serve at Cornerstone Christian Academy. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.Candidates for this position must be capable of teaching Language Arts courses for high and/or middle school. Preference will be given to candidates capable of teaching all levels of high school Language Arts, such as English, Speech, Creative Writing, Publications, and/or Research.
