Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Visiting Assistant Professor in the Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis Program Rank Assistant Professor Tenure Information Non-Tenure Track Summary The Department of Psychology at John Carroll University invites applications for a position in Psychology to begin in Fall 2026. This position entails instructing courses (equivalent to a 4 x 4 load) within the course sequence in the Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis Program. We are primarily interested in hiring someone with prior teaching experience as well as leadership and supervision experience. Visiting Assistant Professors also provide service to the university, primarily within the department and Applied Behavior Analysis program. This can include advising, attending meetings and events, and engaging with students. Teaching responsibilities will involve foundational and advanced behavior analysis courses. In addition, the successful candidate will advise capstone projects.The primary responsibilities of the position will be to instruct courses within the behavior analytic course sequence, advising students, supporting student capstone projects, and supporting program growth. The successful candidate will hold a Doctoral Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field and certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and will have a strong interest in supporting graduate students in a Jesuit liberal arts institution. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by February 10th.Questions about the department or position can be directed to Dr. Maria Helton at and Responsibilities Instructing courses within the course sequenceAssisting students with research related capstone projectsAdvising current studentsAssisting the director with accreditation requirementsAssisting with the recruitment and acceptance of new graduate studentsAttend ABA team meetings weekly and monthly department and university meetingsAttend recruiting and information session eventsRequired Qualifications Board Certified Behavior Analyst Credential (BCBA) and Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst Credential (COBA)Prior teaching/supervision/leadership experience with demonstrated effectivenessPrior experience in using the principles and methods of ABA to advance skill development of children, adolescents, and adultsPrior experience supervising the delivery of ABAPrior experience applying the principles of behavior analysis to a variety of settingsMust meet accreditation requirements to teach capstone coursesPreferred Qualifications Leadership experience within the field of ABAPrevious experience advising graduate students through coursework experiencesAbility to expand applications of behavior analysis to a variety of service areasExperience with ABAI accreditation standardsNormal Work Location, Hours and Conditions This position works in-person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
