Join us and be a part of the new standard!Summary: This is a full-time Diesel Engine Technician position based out of the Carencro, LA Shop, and reports to the shop supervisor position.$5,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS! Only eligible for this benefit after 90 days of employment and must be employed with K&R for at least a year.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform skilled tasks including all levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhaulsComply with all company and customer policies and proceduresComplete appropriate paperwork as directedContinually hone and develop skills in line with technological advances in the industryDemonstrate and further develop leadership skillsMust be able to work in a team environment as a contributing team memberPresent a professional image Qualifications:Proficient in engine maintenanceTroubleshooting skills to general electronic and mechanical control problemsMust have mechanical aptitudeWilling to work set hoursRequired to pass all drug-related and background testingMust have a full set of hand tools as defined by company standardsGood written and verbal communication skillsWilling to attend training classes and/or seminars as requiredShould have general computer skills and be capable of utilizing the computer as an appropriate diagnostic toolProficient in servicing, troubleshooting, and overhauling Cummins industrial high-horsepower engines, including KTA50 and QSK60 series. Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or GEDFormal vocational training is preferredMust have one to five years of Diesel experienceGenerator tech experience is preferredLanguage Skills:Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must have a valid driver's license and be able to maintain an acceptable driving recordPhysical Demands:Often required to lift heavy objectsSpend long periods of time standingMust frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsFREE medical and vision coverage for all K&R employees, industry-leading medical coverage for dependents, 401k with company match, dental coverage, short-term and long-term disability, and MORE.
