Established 135+ Years Premier Firm Seeking Municipal Law Attorney in Sacramento, CaliforniaAn established firm with over 135 years in practice is seeking an Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team in Sacramento, California. This Attorney will have experience in municipal transactional law, including drafting ordinances and resolutions, advising on open meeting laws, land use and planning, conflicts of interest, free speech regulations, public safety issues, election law matters, and other issues impacting public agency clients. Experience handling public meetings is essential. Candidates must be licensed in California.Offer:Salary range: $127,500-$185,000 depending on experience1850 billable requirement (includes 50 pro bono hours)Annual bonus tied to class year (approx. $2,500-$15,000 for early years)Discretionary merit bonuses based on performance and business development (approx. $5,000-$50,000+)401(k) plan with 3.5-4% annual firm contribution (historically given every year for 30+ years)Medical (firm pays portion), dental, and vision insurancePet insurance availableFirm-hosted lunches, holiday events, and periodic in-person gatheringsQualifications:Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience practicing municipal transactional law. Candidates must be licensed in California and have experience handling public meetings. The ideal candidate will be based in the Sacramento, California office (optional work from home).Responsibilities:The Attorney will provide legal counsel to public agency clients on a wide range of municipal law issues. They will draft ordinances and resolutions, advise on compliance with open meeting laws, and assist with land use and planning matters. The role includes addressing conflicts of interest, free speech regulations, public safety concerns, and election law matters. The Attorney will attend and advise during public meetings and ensure clients receive timely and effective legal guidance.
