Position Title Adjunct Instructor, Hospitality Management (High School Programs) (Continuous Posting) Employment Category Adjunct Contract Length N/A Expected Work Schedule Variable Anticipated Days Monday-Friday Anticipated Hours 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Anticipated Hours per Week Variable Job Description Summary The instructor has the responsibility for instructing a variety of courses, utilizing traditional classroom management and distance learning technology. This position is in the High Schools' Career and College Promise Program. Duties 1. Teach Hospitality Management courses in the High School setting; 2. Develop course syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/course taught; 3. Prepare and deliver lectures; 4. Supervise high school students; 5. Research and maintain currency in the related areas of expertise through professional development activities; 6. Utilize technology and innovative techniques for instruction; 7. Abide by all policies, standards, goals and objectives of the College, Business and Hospitality Education, the High School and the Department; 8. Abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the assigned high school; 9. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities to improve instructional quality; 10. Maintain accurate student records; 11. Ensure that all college reports and requested information are submitted promptly and accurately to the Department Chair; 12. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean. Minimum Requirements 1. Associates Degree in Hospitality Management or related degree 2. One or more years experience teaching instructional or training programs. 3. Three or more years work experience in the Hospitality industry. Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor degree or higher in Hospitality Management or related field; 2. At least five years of work experience in the Hospitality industry. 3. One or more years experience teaching instructional training programs at a community college or work-based training programs. 4. Experience using college information databases, such as Moodle, Canvas and WebAdvisor. 5. Experience with Sanitation and Safety in the Restaurant Setting, Restaurant and/or Club Management, Hospitality Law, Human Resources and Business Etiquette Special Instructions to Applicants 1.
