Basic Function:This part-time role assists with the coordination of Safe at Home, a program that supports older adults in staying safe at home through free, personalized home safety assessments and fall-prevention education.Duties include responding to inquiries, supporting outreach efforts, performing data entry, conducting follow-up calls with participants and connecting participants with community resources as needed.This position is grant-funded and contingent upon continued funding. This position works in collaboration with the AgeBetter Outreach and Services Coordinator.ResponsibilitiesProvides information about the AgeBetter Safe at Home program by phone and in person. Responds to inquiries from volunteers, referral sources, and participants; assists with scheduling assessments as needed; and provides general program information.Maintains inventory of program equipment, backpacks, and other supplies to support participants and volunteers.Maintains and updates the Safe at Home Community Resources Guide, expanding listings of services and community organizations to meet participant needs.Assists participants in locating equipment, devices, and supplies; coordinates or assists with delivery of supplies and equipment as neededAssists with outreach activities to recruit participants and volunteers, including social media engagement, community events and fairs, presentations, and press releasesMaintains and records outreach and marketing activity dataAlerts the Executive Director to participant needs related to free or sliding-fee equipment or servicesCommunicates participant concerns, observations, or feedback in a timely manner to the team and/or Executive Director.QualificationsExcellent communication skills and a strong commitment to high-quality customer serviceAbility to work collaboratively with team members, community partners, and other professionalsDemonstrated ability to consistently exhibit warmth, tact, diplomacy, and patienceProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel); familiarity with Canva or similar design software and Google Workspace preferredAbility to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.Interest in working with older adults, particularly in the area of falls prevention; willingness to continue learning about aging and aging in place.Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of activity levels, functional abilities, personalities, and cultural backgroundsKnowledge of community resources and services.Experience and skills in marketing, outreach, and promotional activitiesAbility to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and work independentlyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated commitment to quality service and program excellenceAbility to occasionally work a flexible schedule to support outreach activities.OtherReliable transportation required for outreach purposes.Experience One to two years of experience working with older adults preferred; volunteer service experience is a plus. Administrative experience with an emphasis on customer service is preferred. Experience in a nonprofit environment is also desirable.Education Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred but not required.
