Chemical Production Operator Job, Portland, ORWe are currently seeking a Chemical Production Operator for our Portland, OR location. Reporting into the Chemical Production Supervisor, this position is for an entry-level to experienced operator seeking a full-time position. The Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of resins. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin's policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.Pay: $23.88/hr for Operator E (Entry Level) - $31.38/hr for Operator A (Fully Trained)Chemical Production Operator Job Responsibilities:Manufactures resin safely, according to procedure and following all HSE requirements.Unloads and loads raw materials and finished products following established procedures (tanker trailers, railcars, box trucks, and bulk trucks)Operates a forklift to load/unload raw materials (drums, totes, bags, supersacks)Collaborates with management to meet the production and shipping scheduleEnsures required shipping documents are completed and procedures are followed to be in compliance with all regulations and corporate requirementsParticipates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvementsFollows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environmentVisually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Lead Operator of any deviations or abnormalitiesWorks in close coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processesCommunicates and confers with the Lead Operator as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product qualityResponds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocksPerforms In-Process Checks (IPC's) to verify batch progression and quality using laboratory equipment (GC, Titrator, pH meter, etc.)Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviationsPerform routine housekeeping such as sweeping, powerwashing etc.Chemical Production Operator Job Qualifications:Must be ok with working 12 hour shifts on days or nights (Days/Nights may rotate especially while training)Experience with rotating shifts and night shifts preferredAble to work independently.High School Diploma Required or GED.Forklift experience a plus but must be able to become certified.Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role.Previous chemical/ manufacturing experience a plus.Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).Ability to sit, stand walk and climb frequently working in elevated areas.Will lift an average of 55 lbs. frequently.Basic computer skills required.Experience with automated equipment in a manufacturing environment a plus.DCS Distributed Control Systems experience a plus.Basic math skills required including the use of a calculator.Major Benefits available to full-time employees include:Comprehensive Health Insurance: medical, dental, orthodontia (for dependents only)Company paid Life & Disability InsuranceSpousal & Dependent coverage available for purchaseBusiness Travel Accident InsuranceRetirement Savings Plan - 401(k): traditional & RothCompany match of .70c per dollar, up to 6%-, and 5-year vesting program available after 90 days of employmentEmployee Incentive Program (EIP) - At Arclin, success is never the result of just a single input, but a culmination of our entire team working hand-in-hand to provide value to our customers.
