Waldorf School of the Peninsula (Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating it's 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Waldorf School of the Peninsula is seeking compassionate, reliable, and collaborative Substitute Teaching Assistants to support our Early Childhood and Grades 1-3 programs. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments. ResponsibilitiesSubstitute in Preschool, Kindergarten and/or Grades 1-3. Provide classroom supervision and support as directed by the lead teacher Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and community agreements Support students' social-emotional well-being throughout the day Communicate effectively with faculty, parents and administrative staff Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and proceduresQualifications and RequirementsBachelor's Degree preferred6 ECE units required for Early ChildhoodExperience working with children in an educational or childcare settingWaldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education Strong classroom/student management and communication skills Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a steady, grounded presence Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice on-call, as-needed basisMust pass a background check and TB assessment CompensationThe hourly payrate for this position is $23.97 an hour.We're an equal opportunity employer.
