Construction Estimator-Utility

We are a family-owned business known for delivering high-quality civil infrastructure projects safely, on time, and within budget.We are seeking a skilled Utility Estimator to join our growing civil construction team. This role is essential to our preconstruction process, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for underground utility work-ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from bid to build.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions for utility scopePerform quantity takeoffs for water, sewer, storm drain, and associated infrastructureDevelop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractorsCollaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to assess constructability and sequencingPrepare clear, detailed proposals, bid forms, and supporting documentationEvaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing for scope alignment and accuracyTrack and manage multiple bid opportunities and deadlines simultaneouslyQualificationsMinimum 3 years of estimating experience focused on underground utility constructionProficient in interpreting civil utility drawings, profiles, and construction detailsSolid knowledge of trench safety, local codes, and utility installation practicesExperience using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Agtek, HCSS, or similar)Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferredFamiliarity with permitting and inspection processes in VA, MD, and D.C.Experience with public and private sector infrastructure projects a plusWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with up to 5% company matchPaid holidays, generous time off, including a paid break from Christmas to New Year'sCareer advancement opportunities within a collaborative, team-focused environmentIf you have a passion for utility estimation and a commitment to precision, we encourage you to apply.
