Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Plymouth, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in handling accounting operations within a fast-paced real estate investment environment. As part of the team, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting and compliance while ensuring smooth month-end and year-end processes. Responsibilities: - Post and apply receivables accurately to maintain up-to-date financial records. - Prepare and review journal entries, including routine adjustments, to support the general ledger. - Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances. - Oversee full-cycle month-end and year-end closings, managing approximately 50 closings per month. - Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies. - Process accounts payable transactions and vendor payments promptly and efficiently. - Maintain fixed asset schedules along with related entries to support asset management. - Track complex intercompany and loan transactions to ensure proper documentation and accounting. - Prepare schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits. - Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. Requirements - Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with attention to detail. - Strong knowledge of general ledger operations and reconciliations. - Experience with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks. - Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. - Ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of fixed asset management and related accounting practices. - Proven ability to track and reconcile intercompany transactions. - Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare audit schedules and documentation.
