What Success Looks Like In This JobProvide crisis intervention, case management, and resources to community members and supporting law enforcement by responding to calls for service involving persons that need assistance due to mental health related needs, substance use related needs, those experiencing homelessness, and those that need a resolution outside of the criminal justice path. Examples of Duties for Success Provides crisis intervention and de-escalation on scene, via telephone, and in a variety of environments including parks, homes, businesses, fields, emergency rooms, and other places where a person in crisis is located. Collaborates with law enforcement, community members, and community organizations to provide person-centered crisis intervention, assessment, and creation of safety plans; identifies support systems and barriers to community member wellness, mitigates community member risk factors for behavioral health needs, and refers community members to subsequent resources and treatment for mental health and/or substance use issues.Assesses a person's risk of harm to self or others, builds safety plans with impacted community members, and arranges needed resources or immediate placement for the safety of an individual and/or the community.Collaborates with other co-responders, law enforcement, court personnel, and external providers to provide services including intervention and diversion.Maintains relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment/service plans.Maintains and updates health records within established departmental or program-directed timelines.Works to complete accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure proper monitoring and application of the program. Adheres to the goals and objectives, policies and procedures, standards, and protocols of the Crisis Response Unit (CRU).Participates in required training as mandated by the Sheriff's Office, Patrol Division, and the Crisis Response Unit Supervisor.Complies with all laws, including those protecting the privacy and security of protected health information.Complies with all applicable CORHIO policies. Adheres to all ACSO policies and procedures. Qualifications for SuccessMaster's Degree from an accredited college or university focused on counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.License Candidacy or licensure in a mental health profession in the State of Colorado (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, etc.)Valid Colorado Driver's License required. Preferred Requirements:Certified Addiction Counselor Credential (CAC, LAC, MAC)Previous experience working with law enforcement, or in the criminal justice systemAdams County and the 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office complies with Colorado's Job Application Fairness Act ("JAFA").
