Location: Dallas Type: Direct Hire Job #20112 Salary: $165,000 - $170,000 YEAR The HT Group has recently partnered with a growing distributor in the residential services sector located near Love Field (onsite) in the search for a qualified Controller for an immediate need. Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will serve as the company's top financial officer and will oversee all accounting and related functions. In partnership with other team members and external advisors, the Controller will also lead critical human resources and administrative functions.Accounting & Finance Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets, ensuring an accurate and timely month-end close Manage a small accounting staff (currently two employees) Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement) in accordance with GAAP Prepare additional financial reports for use by internal management, investors, and lenders Prepare and present regular financial and KPI dashboards to leadership and investors, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities Lead the annual audit, serving as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring timely completion of all audit deliverables and findings Lead the annual budgeting process Track performance versus budget, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions Develop and maintain standard cost, inventory, and margin reporting Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations Coordinate tax compliance with external advisors, ensuring timely and accurate filings and payments Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting, including ERP systems and related automation Manage cash flow, including daily cash management, 13-week cash forecasts, and working capital optimization (receivables, payables, and inventory) HR & Administrative Serve as the HR leader, overseeing HR policies, employee records, and compliance with employment regulations in coordination with external providers Administer company benefit plans (health, dental, vision, and 401(k)), manage open enrollment, and work with brokers to evaluate plan design and cost Administer bonus and commission incentive plans Oversee compliance and reporting for retirement plans and other employee benefit programs in partnership with third-party administrators Manage relationships with insurance brokers and carriers; oversee all business insurance (property, casualty, general liability, workers' compensation, auto, and umbrella) and ensure appropriate coverage Act as the primary contact for the company's banking relationships, including lines of credit, treasury services, and covenant reporting Oversee other select administrative services, vendors, and functions, such as external IT vendors, communications providers, and regulatory agencies Background & Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a management role Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred Experience in manufacturing or industrial distribution preferred Experience in public accounting a plus Experience working in a private equity environment a plus Experience implementing accounting, ERP, or other business systems a plus
