Work Schedule: M-F, 6 AM - 4:30 PM*This schedule reflects current business demand and is subject to change at any time.Assembly Technicians perform assembly or sub-assembly of aerospace parts using drills, rivet tools, and other hand tools. Technicians verify compliance with customer requirements using calipers, gauges, and other measuring & inspection tools. Technicians must follow established procedures and work instructions to complete work in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining safe practices and high quality. Essential FunctionsTo perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Assembles product per documentation and directions providedPositions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, following blueprint station lines and index points; verifies fitting tolerances using measuring instruments such as gauges and calipersInstalls parts and components; may specialize in assembling and installing parts, structural components, and/or subassemblies to build full assemblies and detail partsOperates hand tools including drills, rivet guns, screwdrivers, etc.; verifies equipment is operating correctly and safely; performs basic troubleshooting and maintenance as appropriateLocates holes to be drilled in structural assembly for installation of parts and components; using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments; drills, reams, and countersinks holes in subassemblies and installs bolts, rivets, or other fasteners per drawings and work instructionsUtilizes tape measure, mics, calipers, and other gauges to interpret and record part measurements per customer specifications accuratelyVisually assesses parts for missing or incomplete operationsMaintains quantities and operation accountability per the manufacturing control planMaintains a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollows directions consistently and accepts responsibility for actions and work productComplies with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructionsAdheres to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safetyPerforms other job-related duties as assignedRegular attendance on-site at the workplace is requiredRequired Education and Work ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalent is requiredVocational training in a technical/mechanical field is preferredSix (6) months experience in mechanical assembly or similar production/manufacturing role is preferredOther Required Skills and AbilitiesExperience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications is requiredExperience using precision measuring instruments including mics and calipers is requiredExperience using hand tools and instruments such as calipers, height gauges, drills, and rivet guns is requiredPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentTo perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job dutiesRegularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipmentOccasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform dutiesFrequently climb steps, stairs, or laddersOccasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneelFrequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate tools and material handling controlsVisual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devicesWorking Conditions Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:Excessive noise (hearing protection required)Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (occasionally)Extreme temperatures (occasionally)Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is requiredThis position is classified as safety-sensitive.We appreciate your interest in Accurus Aerospace; however, only those applicants selected for interviews will be contacted.Accurus offers a comprehensive employee benefit package upon completion of 30 days of employment.
