Akkodis is recruiting for a Sr Automotive Software Engineering Consultan t for a manufacturer in the Dearborn, MI area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay rate of $65 hour to $90 an hour depending on education, experience and location. Sr. Automotive Software Engineering Consultant. Working in exploration phase on a consulting project with customer. Will be doing root cause analysis. Working on cutting edge AI with customer. They will be writing automotive software and helping to integrate them together with AI. They will be working closely with customers AI experts Automotive E/E and Software Architecture Expertise - Strong understanding of ECU architectures, vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), AUTOSAR (Classic/Adaptive), diagnostics (UDS/ODX), and architectural decomposition of distributed vehicle systems, including interface definition and software layering concepts.ASE DevOps & Toolchain Engineering - Design and operation of enterprise-grade CI/CD ecosystems, automated build and integration pipelines, static code and quality analysis integration, continuous validation (unit, integration, SiL, HiL), artifact lifecycle management, and traceable configuration and version control aligned with automotive compliance processes.System Integration & Program Governance - Orchestration of multi-ECU and cross-program software baselines, variant and dependency management, supplier and interface alignment, integration readiness assessments, and structured release governance across distributed development streams.Consulting & AI Solution Enablement - Ability to work closely with OEM stakeholders and cross-functional ETAS teams (consultants, architects, AI engineers) to understand the Automotive Software Engineering (ASE) domain at the OEM, and support the definition, validation, and iterative development of AI-driven capabilities within ASE expertise.Ideally NA Located. Multiple customer visitsInitial project 2-3 months, but with big chances to extend it. Must have 8-10 years expertise in integrating vehicle architecture. Must have DevOps experience. Must have prior consulting or research experience. Must understand AUTOSAR. Must be able to work 4 days in the office and one day from home.
