Position: Safety CoordinatorReports to: Safety Manager Location: Fort Wayne, IndianaPay Range: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour (Eligible for Overtime)We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.Superior is looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to ensure that every team member on our job sites is safe and secure. This position will maintain safe conditions for people and property, assist with investigating accidents, and emergency response. This role is based on a jobsite in Fort Wayne, Indiana.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate across the jobsite with Field Operations and Project Operations team members, as well as the General Contractor and other trade partnersAssist with the collection of safety records following trainings sessions Document all injuries, incidents, and near missesSigning daily paperwork to verify proper hazard and mitigation assessmentMonitor large construction sites and enforce compliance with government rules & regulationsComplete audits and daily reports describing activities completed, and issues, etc.Stay up-to-date with safety policies and trends, i.e. meeting the latest safety standards and establishing new ones from time-to-time as newer risks are discoveredAttend all safety meetings on the job sitesYour Character TraitsYou're passionate about all-things safetyYou have a strong attention to detailYou have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsYou're a natural at conflict resolution and are calm under pressureYou're able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive informationYour ExpertiseRequired: You have at least 1 year of safety experience in construction OR 5 years of field/project experience on a commercial construction site OR a degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or completed an apprenticeship program)Required: You have certification in First Aid/CPRRequired: You have completed the OSHA 10-hour construction training courseBonus Points: You have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction training courseBonus Points: You have a safety credential through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (e.g., CHST) or are actively working toward certificationBonus Points: You have experience in electrical constructionOur BenefitsWe offer a range of professional and personal perks that you can enjoy as a member of Superior.
