Description:BGE is seeking a Senior Planner to join our Planning + Landscape Architecture Studio in Houston. Our employees enjoy a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package including outstanding health care, generous 401K match, career mapping and highly competitive time away from work programs including dependent care and flexible Fridays.Responsibilities:Conduct complex project research and review local development codes and regulationsConduct land use and site analysisOversee the preparation of base maps and project graphics to support the planning processOversee the development of conceptual plans, master plans, and lotting studiesOversee the preparation of zoning applications and development guidelinesOversee the preparation of general plans and subdivision platsCoordinate with clients and other consultantsCoordinate with local governmental agenciesRepresent clients at public meetingsAssist with special planning projects as directed by leadershipMentor less experienced team membersPrepare project proposals and contractsOversee monthly billings and A/RParticipate in business development activitiesRequirements:Bachelor's and/or master's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related fieldAICP Certification strongly desired8-12 years of demonstrated work experienceSolid understanding of planning principles, practices & techniquesProficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, & Adobe Suite softwareCreative problem solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamAbility to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet firm deadlinesBGE is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
