Job Title: Assistant XC/Track and Field Coach Reports To: Kathryn Munks Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Summary/objectiveThe Assistant XC/Track and Field Coach will receive hands-on experience across all areas of program operations, including daily practice planning, meet preparation, recruiting support, and student-athlete development. The role offers meaningful responsibility, mentorship from the Head Coach, and exposure to the full scope of NCAA Division III program management.Essential functionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Assist with recruiting communication and organization, guiding prospective student-athletes through the admissions process.Support strength and conditioning coordination, and contribute to administrative and compliance-related tasks. Assist with facility operations, which may include building management, event or practice supervision, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Administration. Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes intentional training and holistic student-athlete success.This position requires evening and weekend availability, with an expected commitment of approximately 30+ hours per week during the competitive seasons.The position reports directly to the Head XC/Track and Field Coach. Supervisory responsibilities - There are no supervisory roles in this position Work environmentOffice Setting: Cubicles, open desks, or private offices with access to necessary tools like computers, phones, and office supplies.Remote Setting: Working from home or another location with access to virtual communication platforms and necessary technology.Physical demandsSitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.Typing/Computer Use: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse.Vision Requirements: Ability to read and view screens for extended periods.Speaking/Hearing: Regular communication with coworkers and clients in person, over the phone, or via video calls.Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10-15 pounds, such as office supplies, laptops, or documents (general soccer equipment).Reaching/Bending: Periodic reaching for or bending to access files, supplies, or equipment.Mobility: must be able to demonstrate soccer related tasksTravel required - Required to attend all the teams' events. This includes overnight visits, away meets, and any trips. You must also be willing to travel for recruiting; the distance will depend on the location of the showcases. Required education and experienceHigh school Degree Competitive XC/Track and Field experience, ideally at the college levelPreferred education and experienceBachelor's Degree Experience recruiting Experience in salesExperience coaching a team as a head coach Ability to work independently Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and communication skillsWork authorization/security clearance requirementsMust be authorized to work in the United States.
