Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard?   We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Development Engineer to support engine and component durability testing within a Mechanical Development (MED) team environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being in the test cell, working directly with engines, instrumentation, and data—not just running simulations or writing reports. The primary focus of this role is engine and rotating component testing, including pistons, connecting rods, cranktrain, and valvetrain systems, under high-temperature, high-load, and high-strain conditions. You will be responsible for test setup, execution, data acquisition, teardown, and documentation across multiple engine development programs. What You’ll Be Doing Set up and execute engine and component durability tests (engine dyno and bench testing) Instrument engines and components using thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure sensors, and other transducers Perform high-temperature, strain, fatigue, and metal durability testing Support testing of: Cranktrain, pistons, connecting rods Valve train and power cylinder systems Cooling, lubrication, vent, sealing, and EGR systems Monitor tests in real time, troubleshoot issues, and adjust test conditions as needed Collect, validate, and analyze test data using DAQ systems Perform post-test teardown, inspection, and failure analysis Document results clearly through test reports, data summaries, and technical recommendations Ensure testing complies with engineering standards, internal procedures, and customer requirements Collaborate closely with design, systems, and program teams to support development decisions What We’re Looking For (This Is Key) This role is best suited for someone who: Has direct engine or durability testing experience Is comfortable working onsite in test cells and labs Enjoys hands-on hardware work, not just modeling or simulation Understands how mechanical components behave under thermal and mechanical stress Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in: Engine testing, durability testing, or mechanical validation Dyno testing, component testing, or lab-based development work Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and test setup Strong understanding of engine mechanical systems Ability to document results clearly and communicate findings effectively Preferred Experience Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience with: Engine dynos or component test rigs Strain gauge application and thermal instrumentation Post-test teardown and root-cause analysis LabVIEW, data acquisition systems, or test automation tools Background in ICE engine development (OEM or Tier-1 environment) #LI-KE1
