Job Summary * The Landscape Tender PW performs a variety of landscape and irrigation duties using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. Duties and Responsibilities: * Lay sod and prepare planting areas. * Plant trees, shrubs, and flowers. * Water and fertilize landscaped areas. * Dig, rake, and perform general site preparation. * Install and maintain sprinkler and irrigation systems. * Install mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. * Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Education and Experience: * Minimum 6 months commercial landscape experience * Ability to operate hand equipment with mechanized moving blades (e.g., gas-powered shears) * Experience using manual hand tools such as shovels. Physical Demands/Requirements: * The ability to work from elevated heights such as an 8' A-frame ladder. * Ability to use a hand shovel for extended period. * Ability to move soil, equipment, and materials, dig holes, and plant trees, shrubs, and flowers. * Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.) * Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.) * Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day. * Ability to handle items such as plants, bushes, hoses, shovels, rakes, and burlap bags - which are handled by two workers. Work Environment: * Able to work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic. * Able to work near or about natural bodies of water. * Able to work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (overtime/weekend work required) * Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. * Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. Compensation Pay Range: $ 23.23- 24.23 BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
