Our team of experts provides exceptional, compassionate legal representation, refugee services, and social work services.We take on the most complex immigration cases, resettle refugees from around the world, and ensure all clients have access to much-needed resources. Operating in 6 different offices from Council Bluffs to Scottsbluff, our team of more than 100 full-time employees helps communities' welcome immigrants and refugees as they build their lives here. We assist with all forms of family and humanitarian-based immigration, and we never turn any family away due to inability to pay. POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Case Manager in the Employment Program will report directly to the Employment Program Manager and will join the Employment program team. CIRA's employment program is designed to help refugees who have been in the United States for less than 5 years gain access to employment. We are hiring someone who has a demonstrated passion for working with refugees, has a working knowledge of the Omaha job market, and can work in a fast-paced environment with clients and teammates from many different cultural and national backgrounds.CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:Recruitment and Enrollment Complete employment intake, enroll clients in the program, and sign applicable agreements Create a Family Self-Sufficiency Plan (FSSP)Create a household budget and plan Complete employment barriers assessment Complete Individual Employment Plan and create resumeWork with the client and family to set employment and self-sufficiency goalsScan clients' eligibility documents and upload to online case file Data Management Create a profile for the client in the online database and upload required documents Write case notes and keep the online case file up to date Complete required database forms and modulesEnsure State and internal databases and spreadsheets are up to dateUpdate the client's training and employment records Direct Client Service Complete online or on paper job applications for clients, while teaching them to do so for themselves in the futureEnsure clients understand U.S. workplace culture and expectationsEnsure clients are prepared for interviewsProvide or coordinate transportation for job applications, interviews, orientations, and initial days of employment Follow up on job applications and job placementsCoach clients on career developmentAssist clients in creating a plan for ongoing transportation needsComplete follow-up meetings or phone calls with clients and employers QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or GED requiredFluency in English (written and verbal) required; Fluency in other languages commonly spoken by client populations preferredProficiency in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and ability to learn case management databasesWorking knowledge of Omaha's employment opportunities and needs Ability to work on a team and handle multiple tasks in an organized and timely mannerExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficientlyExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to build professional relationshipsAbility to adapt quickly to new tools and processes in a fast-paced environmentValid driver's license and clean driving record requiredAbility to take initiative, think strategically, and exercise good judgmentCreative problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions when necessary Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a teamProfessional demeanor with positive, enthusiastic approach to workCommitment to providing excellent service to all clientsDemonstrates reliability through consistent attendance and time managementExperience working with immigrant, refugee, or trauma-affected individuals and families preferredAbility to pass all required background checks Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United StatesWORKING CONDITIONS: This role includes desk work as well as travel around Lincoln. Mileage reimbursement is provided.This is not a remote position.Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
