Watch now to learn more about The Pond Guy: Job Description: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will support engineering product development efforts by leading design and project management activities from concept through production launch. This role requires strong 3D CAD expertise, technical ownership, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will manage multiple product development initiatives simultaneously while ensuring designs meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost requirements. You will serve as an engineering lead for assigned projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution through the company's product launch process. Here are examples of the actual work your day would include. Lead several major product development initiatives simultaneously, managing design and development through the launch processServe as Engineering subject matter expert, ensuring technical excellence, manufacturability (DFMA), and production readiness for assigned projectsDevelop product and component designs using SolidWorks while driving adherence to engineering standards and best practicesLead and facilitate design reviews and ensure design intent aligns with performance, quality assurance, and business requirementsPerform prototyping, mechanical testing, and validation, including test plans, procedures, and fixturesSupport continuous improvement initiatives and resolve design-related quality issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysisProvide engineering and technical support across Airmax, Local Service, and Direct-to-Consumer divisions as neededDemonstrate ownership, curiosity, and persistence while benchmarking competitive products and identifying opportunities for product or process innovationDon't know about ponds? We utilize an interactive combination of hands-on and visual training to ensure everyone has a complete understanding of The Pond Guy's proactive approach to pond management.Job RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:Engineering bachelor's degree: mechanical engineering preferredProven experience applying mechanical engineering principles, knowledge of materials science, thermodynamics, manufacturing processes, and tools in product engineeringMinimum of 3+ years of experience in product design/development within an engineering disciplineExperience creating and defining performance requirements on engineering drawingsSolid understanding of GD&TProficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D-modeling softwareInquisitive mindset with a passion for exploring new ideas and approachesDemonstrated ability to build strong connections by seeking input and fostering open dialogueCreative thinking and persistence in finding solutions to complex problemsExperience with various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, metal forming, injection molding, welding/joining, extrusion, etc.This position requires manual dexterity for working with small components, the ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time, bending, continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 50 lb., and managing packages up to 150 lb., as well as standing/stooping for long periods of time.Our Mechanical Engineer will require extensive use of a computer system. This position involves a high degree of interaction with engineers, technicians, managers, leads, and other departments (Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, etc.). Organization, follow-up, and communication skills are essential factors in the daily administration of this position.We need a Mechanical Engineer who has a positive attitude, and the words "can't" and "impossible" are not a part of your vocabulary.
