Summary: Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our first-party engineering client in Delaware, OH. This role is preferred to be on site but the client is open to remote work for the right candidate. This individual will take part in the design, development, testing, optimization, and launch of hoisting systems and components for suspended access and lifting equipment. This role owns innovation, product design, product performance, customer experience, manufacturability, market share, and margin improvement across the full product lifecycle.Product Design & DevelopmentLead mechanical design, development, testing, and launch of electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components.Translate customer, internal, and regulatory requirements into robust and manufacturable designs.Perform engineering analyses (stress, fatigue, deflection, load calculations).Own New Product Introduction (NPI) processes including design reviews, prototyping, testing, and launch readiness.Product Optimization & ImprovementImprove existing products based on customer feedback, field data, warranty trends, and manufacturing challenges.Enhance reliability, usability, safety, and overall customer experience.Identify cost-reduction opportunities through design simplification, materials changes, and process improvements.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and suppliers to improve manufacturability and reduce lifecycle costs.Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing, assembly, and field issues.Ensure compliance with industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Documentation & SupportPrepare and maintain engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs, specifications, manuals).Support field engineering activities (approx. 10%).Provide input into proposals and product requirements.Featured benefits401(k), Medical insurance, Vision insurance, Dental insuranceCompensation for this role is between $120k+ per year based on years of experience.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
