Reports to the Program Director of the EdD in Educational Leadership at the College of Learning and Development (CLD), ACU Dallas.Exempt/Full-TimeFaculty Rank: College Assistant Professor, College Associate Professor, or College Professor (all non-tenured)Position Location: Remote, with the possibility of limited travelThe key principle of this job is to support ACU's mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.Scope: The (EdD Educational Leadership) Full-Time Doctoral Research Coordinator (DRC) and Faculty Appointment Instructor teaches in all courses and supports the Coterie and dissertation process related to the Educational Leadership program (doctoral). S/he will report to the Program Director of the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the College of Learning and Development.Professional1. Ed.D or a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in an education or leadership-related discipline (e.g. Educational Leadership, Management, Human Resource Development, Organizational Leadership, etc.).2. Teaching experience or administrative experience in higher education is preferred.3. Knowledge of current educational practices, leadership, supporting and fostering a collaborative culture, working with adult learners preferably at the doctoral level, and experience chairing and serving on dissertation committees.4. Relevant research completed in the last ten years [e.g. publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, program evaluation reports, etc.], focusing on K-12 education is preferred.5. competency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and demonstrated research experience, including recent scholarly activity (e.g., publications, presentations, program evaluations).6. Experience teaching online coursework.7. Computer literate in software and internet-based applications.Major Responsibilities:Assist the Program Director with the online EdD Educational Leadership program.A majority of time spent will be to assist the Program Director with supporting the work of the embedded dissertation process and doctoral research. Approximately 75% or 30 hours per week of your workload will be allocated to work with coordinating the doctoral research process and supporting the Softdocs platform. The remaining 25% will be allocated to the Coterie (student mentorship), teaching, service on project, program, college, and university committees as needs arise. The time commitment will vary based on the number of students. The program director may adjust the allocation of your loads as needed.Doctoral Process Coordinator - Serve as the primary faculty contact for EdD students in the early phases of the dissertation process. Oversee the process of assigning dissertation chairs and committee members in collaboration with the Program Director.Providing individualized mentorship and feedback on dissertation milestones - 10-12 hours per weekOffering one-on-one guidance to support students through developing and refining their dissertation topics, research designs, and scholarly writing.Track and manage dissertation-related data, including committee assignments, milestone completions, and IRB approvals.Ensure accurate storage of student dissertation progress records in Softdocs system.Collaborate with faculty and leadership to develop and improve dissertation curriculum and support.Attend weekly Coterie synchronous sessions (One hour per week in the evening) - 1 hour per weekActive member of the Coterie Mentoring team - some evening and limited Saturday meetings. Continuing student engagement in a real-time setting.Support in organizing and attend one 1-hour Super Saturday Coterie session per term - 1 hour per week (averaged across the term)Adding extra planning and follow-up components to maximize student impact.Support the development of and preparing for weekly Coterie student meetings - 5-6 hours per weekStrengthening student meeting materials and post-meeting support.Assist in reviewing, and providing feedback on students' Declaration of Research Interest submissions - 3-4 hours per weekExpanding review time to ensure in-depth, constructive feedback on student research.Regular communication with students (emails, check-ins, troubleshooting challenges, etc.) - 2-3 hours per weekStrengthening student engagement through proactive communication and support.Essential duties include the following.
