We encourage anyone who shares our values to apply today!We are proud to offer our employees: Health Insurance 401(k) Competitive WagesPaid VacationPaid HolidaysESOP - Employee Stock Ownership PlanResponsibilities:Support other apprentices, machinists, and lead machinists on various projectsFollow instructions from foreman and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently Keep the job site clean and well-organizedHandle the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipmentEnsure attention to detail and follow safety standardsFuel and wash department vehiclesRequirements:Mechanically inclined with common hand tools (tape measure, hand and power tools, saw, etc.)Basic math and geometryAbility to work effectively with all personality typesAbility to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsSelf-directed and can work independentlyValid Driver's LicensePreferred Requirements:Preventative maintenance of equipmentClean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machineryDetermine reference points, machine cutting paths or hole locations, and compute angular, and linear dimensions, radii, and curvaturesDetermine the sequence of machine operations, and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapesCalculate dimensions or tolerations or machining componentsLearn machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, to machined parts to specifications set forth in designs, engineering orders, etcKnowledge of G&M codeAssist with the positioning of chain falls, hoist, blocks, rope, jacks, chains, and rigging as directed by the riggerAssist in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved as directed by the riggerBasic verbal and hand signals to applicable equipment in useAttaching rigging to a load based upon a pre-planned rigging methodSet up or operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting equipmentStick (arc) weldingTorch cuttingBlueprint readingLock-out Tag-outFall protection confined space entrantConfined space attendant/supervisorChauffeurs License & DOT Med CardEquipment experience:Forklift Operation - Material handling up to 5000# (Preferred)Trailer loading and securing of material & equipmentPrecision measuring equipment (ID/OD micrometers, calipers, dial indicators - Preferred)Overhead crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO- Preferred)Manual Bridgeport (Preferred)Drill press (Preferred)Grinders (Preferred)Saws (Preferred)Ability to run CNC equipment (Preferred)Mastercam (Preferred)Tool experience:Standard industrial tools (Pliers, wrenches, drills, etc.)Hytroc (Preferred)Mag drill (Preferred)Mag drill (Preferred)Hydraulic jacks (Preferred)Rigging Requirements:Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings.Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines Identifies common load configurations & positioning Rigger 1 training - trains on above Physical Requirements:Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionallyMust be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazardsMust be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.Must be able to work in cold/hot environments.Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, and nothing herein restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
