The Seasonal Mower is responsible for providing routine to semi-skilled seasonal work in the Parks Department including mowing, mower maintenance, thatching, and bagging of grass.This seasonal position will work one to five days per week (i.e., 8-40 hours) over a 67-day season, approximately April through October. The City is willing to consider flexible scheduling options within a Monday through Friday timeframe Essential Duties Operate large and small rotary riding mowers to maintain Rosemount's parks and facilities.Perform light maintenance and cleaning on mowers.Work with little or no direct supervision.Perform other various duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or GED equivalent.Valid Driver's LicenseAbility to operate large and small rotary riding mowers.Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time.Ability to work outdoors for entire shift.Ability to work 8-40 hours a week from April through October. Specific dates to be determined.Desired QualificationsFormal education or practical experience in mowing.Formal education or practical experience in maintenance of mowers.Necessary Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSome knowledge of the tools, methods, and materials used in general maintenance.Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.Ability to operate a variety of motorized vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.Physical strength sufficient to do mowing tasks under varying weather conditions.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
