Administration will review submitted materials and contact qualified candidates with next steps.JOB SUMMARY:The Associate Preschool Teacher assists in providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, this position supports the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development while ensuring compliance with district policies, state child care licensing, and Great Start Readiness Program requirements. The role includes supervising children, assisting with classroom routines, supporting child assessment and family engagement, and contributing to a positive and professional early childhood learning environment.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:An Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Child Development Associate Credential (CDA); DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working with preschool-age children.Knowledge of Creative Curriculum or Teaching Strategies GoldHours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-FridayGeneral Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe environment for all children and staff onsite and offsite for occasional field trips.Provide/direct activities designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and developmental needs of children.Provide/direct activities that enhance and encourage the development of the children's individual interests and talents.Provide a comfortable and relaxed environment where children feel welcome and secure.Assist in preparation of snack.Supervise assigned children.Use positive discipline techniques when supervising children in the program and follow discipline policy.Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.Follow all school district, state child care licensing and Great Start Readiness Program requirements.Participate fully in curriculum planning and implementation, child assessment and parent engagement through home visits, conferences and parent meetings.Take anecdotal records, input data into computer assessment system and use them to develop instructional strategies for children.Staff may be required to lift young children on occasion, weighing up to 80 pounds.Maintain a level of professionalism and confidentiality when discussing individual children with parents and staffBenefits:Paid time offProfessional development assistanceApplications accepted until filled.Pursuant to Public Act 68 of 1993 and Public Act 83 of 1995, selected new employees shall submit to fingerprints and a criminal background check at the employee's expense.It is the policy of the Board of Education that the District will not discriminate against any applicant or employee based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, height, weight, familial status, marital status, military service, veteran status, genetic information, disability, or any other legally protected basis .
