DescriptionSUMMARYPerforms basic repairs and performs routine maintenance on trucks and other vehicles by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Installs or makes basic repairs to A/C, brakes, fuel injectors, engine, electrical systems and components, wheel seals, bearings and race, power divider assembly, drive line replacements, and aux transmission repairsExamines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments. Performs DOT inspections to ensure truck is road readyLubricates moving parts and drives on repaired truck to verify conformance specifications Performs preventative maintenance activities according to schedule, and road check truckSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS ASE Med/Hvy Truck. CDL. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud, when in proximity to running diesel engine or operating air powered tools.RequirementsFlorida Drivers License2 years of experience working on heavy duty trucks and diesel enginesDiagnostic and practical problem- solving skills.Necessary toolsA neat and organized approach to work and reporting proceduresAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
