Controller | Manufacturing | Phoenix, AZ (On-Site) A well-established, privately held manufacturing company in the Phoenix area is seeking a Controller to join its leadership team. This organization has been operating for decades and has built a strong reputation as a precision manufacturer supporting highly technical industries including semiconductor equipment and aerospace components. The business has experienced substantial growth over the past decade and is positioned for continued expansion as demand increases from major global customers. With multiple facilities in the Phoenix area and additional international operations, the company is investing in systems, processes, and financial leadership to support the next stage of growth. The OpportunityThis role reports directly to the CFO and oversees the accounting organization while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership. The Controller will play a key role in ensuring strong financial processes while also contributing to operational insights and strategic initiatives. The position offers a balanced mix of accounting leadership, financial analysis, and project work, allowing the successful candidate to influence both financial performance and business processes. Key Responsibilities Lead the accounting function including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll oversight. Manage the month-end close process and review consolidated financial reporting. Oversee treasury activities, including cash management and borrowing base reporting. Partner with operations and leadership to identify cost improvements and revenue opportunities. Establish and maintain accounting policies and internal controls aligned with GAAP. Serve as the primary contact for external auditors. Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis to support business decision-making. Drive process improvements and support finance-related system enhancements. Mentor and develop accounting staff while building strong cross-functional relationships across the organization. What We`re Looking For 5-10+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with cost accounting and operational finance. Strong understanding of ERP systems and financial processes. Ability to analyze operational data and translate insights into business decisions. Collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills. Experience in job shop or complex manufacturing environments is highly valued. CPA or audit background is helpful but not required. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
